Who We Are

Coming together with four decades of experience in the sustainability space, change agents Kestrel Jenkins & Natalie Shehata have joined forces to help you and your brand or organization tell your stories in the most powerful way.

Kestrel Jenkins (she/her) has claimed a name in the sustainability space through her global podcast Conscious Chatter, the first show to cover fashion and sustainability. Launched in 2016, Conscious Chatter has been downloaded over 1 million times, has listeners in over 100 countries, and is used as a tool in higher education classrooms.

With over 16 years of experience, Kestrel’s work has been featured in Vogue, Harper’s Bazaar, Nylon, Fashionista, Darling Magazine, HuffPo, and more. She got her start interning at People Tree in London in 2008 and since then, has worked across the industry — Editor & Business Development at Inhabitat, Ecouterre, and EcoSalon, Producer for the GreenShows: first eco fashion show at Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in New York City, Wardrobe Stylist for Sony, Epson, and more.

Kestrel’s fashion advocacy & unique storytelling style is also woven throughout her work as a speaker, moderator, responsibility consultant, and thought leader in the space. As a storyteller and internationally trained journalist, Kestrel’s unique storytelling style has led to speaking engagements around the world — she has hosted and moderated events in the Netherlands, Germany, and across the United States, including the inaugural State of Fashion event in Arnhem, The Conscious Loft by Mochni during Berlin Fashion Week, and key discussions at the Sustainable Fashion Forum in Portland. Overall, her work is centered around thoughtful communication, relationship-building, and uncovering the layers of nuance across the sustainability and fashion industry.

Natalie Shehata (she/her) is a multi-hyphenated creative, radical storyteller and inspirer in the sustainability space working at the intersections of style & social justice. Fusing her love for community and connection, she has worked with organizations, not-for-profits, social enterprises and brands to change systems and culture with a focus on equity and liberation.

With a 16 year career working in the fashion industry she has spoken on industry panels, presented keynotes and hosted panel discussions with Fashion Revolution Australia, Wolf and Badger, The University of Notre Dame and Eco Fashion Week Australia. She has collaborated with local councils across Australia, and her commentary has appeared in publications such as Elle Magazine, Atmos Magazine, Fashion Journal Magazine and PopSugar. She has appeared on leading podcasts Conscious Chatter, Conscious Life and Style and Pre-loved Podcast, and National TV Shows & Live News Programs in Australia including Studio 10 and The Living Room

One of her most impactful roles was at The Social Outfit, Australia’s most loved social enterprise, where she was retail trainer and manager for female youth from the refugee, asylum seeker and new migrant community. Through the development of a retail training program where she created an online and in person retail school featuring training manuals, instructional industry videos and written materials, her training guided 92% of Women to self sufficiency through paid employment. With a 20yr career in ethical retail, she grew revenue as retail manager at The Social Outfit during the peak of covid and lockdowns.

In 2018, Natalie created the role of, and was the first ever, National Retail Eco Stylist for Save the Children Op Shops Australia where she advocated for shopping secondhand over new through her styling workshops, in-store events and styling & creative direction of national campaigns.

As a leader in the Australian sustainable fashion landscape she innovated the role of ‘Sustainable Fashion Stylist’, with her first client in 2008, at19 years of age. Over the years, she has helped pave the way for other Eco/Sustainable Stylists. She has styled countless people including: Mehreen Faruqi (Senator for NSW, Australia), Jenny Leong (Australian Politician), Jan Fran (Journalist) and Annabel Crab (Australian Political journalist).

She founded tommie magazine in 2017, one of the first online platforms in Australia to fuse the worlds of secondhand, decolonizing sustainability and democratising fashion. Through this platform she has reached thousands of people with sold out in person events, has appeared at major festivals across Australia and has developed online alternative education around accessible and inclusive language in sustainable fashion.

In the many facets of her work, Natalie always leads with heart and impact.
